Over the past few years, .300 Blackout has become increasingly popular, especially with those who like running suppressors and want to mitigate the noise as much as possible.
When you take a look at the calibers that professionals were using to keep quiet in the past, it’s clear why .300 Blackout has made such a big stink over the years.
The MP5 is quiet. So is the UMP45. But they could never get 5.56 to run as quietly, and that left a lot of room on the table for something that hit harder but kept things hush.
Enter .300 Blackout. Niche caliber, sure, but it does what it needs to do.
That said, there are a lot of great options out there on the market, and odds are, you’re here looking for the best that you can get your hands on.
Without further ado, I’ll be your sommelier for the evening.
Q Honey Badger
One of the most popular offerings chambered in .300 Blackout is the Q Honey Badger. Available in both rifle, pistol, and SD configurations, the Badger is meant to be the best PDW you can find in terms of reliability, size, and performance.

The barrel lengths range from six to seven inches and use a 1:5 barrel twist to ensure proper stabilization out of the shorter barrel. The two-stage trigger is crisp and provides tactile feedback, and the 70-degree safety selector gets you in the game fast and is just as tactile as the trigger.
I really like the SBR version, as you get a telescoping stock, making it easier for you to get it in or out of a bag if things go “bad”. The only issue with the badger that I can find is that it’s too short for some bigger shooters.
BCM (Bravo Company MFG)
BCM is one of the finest makers of firearms in the industry, and one of the ways it stands out is that it doesn’t charge an arm and a leg. If you pay close attention to action movies and TV shows, you’ll likely notice BCM products if the armorer actually knows their stuff.
Available in multiple lengths and handguard configurations, you have your pick of the litter depending on what you need out of your pistol or rifle. In the shorter nine-inch configuration pictured below, you will get an M-Lok handguard that houses a 1:7 barrel twist, which can deliver Sub-MOA accuracy, dependent on the ammo.

I may be biased, but these are some good tools. Source
These BCM uppers are some of the lightest that you can find, too. At 2.2 pounds with the nine-inch upper receiver, even the smallest of shooters can run this as a truck gun or home defense gun.
PWS MK109
The PWS MK109 is one of the most reliable .300 Blackout offerings on the market, thanks to its operating system.
The long-stroke gas piston system is superior to the direct impingement systems you’ll find on some of these other rifles. And when you’re shooting suppressed, that goes a long way. With direct impingement, you get more gases back into the system, which increases fouling and raises the risk of failures.

The best .300 Blackout upper receiver on the market comes from PWS. Source
Now, you couple that with using a suppressor, and you’re in for a whole world of gases in your face and a system that is dirtier than a New York subway tunnel.
Of course, it comes with plenty of M-LOK and Picatinny space too so that you can mount your favorite accessories.
Aero Precision M4E1
Aero Precision makes some of the best weaponry in its price range. It’s not unusual that you’ll see high-dollar uppers on an Aero Precision lower, or some of its parts lurking around somewhere on the big GunTubers videos.

You may have to change some parts to get what you want from it, most notably the barrel, but the bones are great. Machined from 7075-T6 Aluminum like the big boys, it’s a solid upper with QD attachment points for a sling and a full Picatinny rail on top.
I wouldn’t go taking it into war until you swap the bolt carrier group and barrel, but if you’re one who likes to tinker, you’ll love this one.
Noveske Chainsaw
When you want to be competitive in this rifle market, you bring the price down while keeping quality up. Enter the Noveske Chainsaw; the easiest way to get into one of the best names in the world without dropping a mortgage.

You can get a lot more done with this as a civilian than with anything else. Source
The Chainsaw in .300 Blackout comes with a 10.5-inch barrel with a 1:7 twist, which stabilizes the .300 Blackout perfectly while being capable of punching out to a reasonable distance. Inside, Noveske made it capable of going through hell and back.
Notable features include properly staked gas keys, chrome lining everywhere you need it to be, and hand-polished feed ramps that ensure a long-lasting and high-quality firearm. Out of all the rifles on this list, this one probably has the best overall quality.
Daniel Defense M4V7P
Is there ever a list about the modern AR-15 without at least one mention of Daniel Defense? Absolutely not. They gave us the MK18, and if you’re looking for a more capable MK18, then you’re going to love the DDM4V7P.

A one-point sling would be ideal. Source
It’s a mouthful, I know, but the V7P is a handful of good parts mashed into what many would consider to be one of the best rifles around. The V7P features a 10.3-inch barrel with a 1:8 twist, similar (but not exact) to the MK18, and all of the quality you would expect from a name like Daniel Defense.
You’ll find features like properly staked gas keys, chrome lining, and a heavier phosphate coating on the bolt carrier group to ensure a longer life than any of us will ever put it through. These guns aren’t cheap, but most high-quality things are not.
Conclusion
All of these rifles and pistols will get the job done. And reliably at that. But don’t forget, there is also the option of building your loadout yourself so you can control the pricing better.
You can order one of these amazing complete uppers and slap it on a lower of your choice. Then pick the rest of your parts carefully, focusing on what’s important. The end result can be a fantastic firearm at an even better price.
But if that’s not your slice of pie, any one of these will scratch the itch.
Be good and take care.
