When you have over 2,800 exhibitors in one place, showing off the latest and greatest guns and gear, picking your favorites can be extremely difficult. That said, several caught the attention of the masses, including myself.

Whether they were drawing a crowd due to their potential superior performance or extreme uniqueness, each one deserves some of the spotlight. I’d love to own each of these, and I’m confident you could find your own reason(s) for at least one of them!

Zev Technologies/Magpul FDP-9

Folding PCCs have become increasingly popular over the last couple of years. Who wouldn’t want a compact, high-capacity, and maneuverable firearm that can share the same ammo as your concealed carry weapon? I know I sure do.

Magpul has been teasing the concept model of this gun for over a decade and it’s finally here! The FDP (Folding Defensive Platform) is a collaboration between Zev Technologies and Magpul, providing everything you need in one unique package.

A scope or LPVO may seem like overkill, but why not? Source

It almost looks like a small briefcase when folded, but once deployed, you’ll see that it has all the fixings for a capable defensive weapon; a precision trigger system, the ability to mount optics, and ambidextrous controls.

It will be available in a pistol and carbine platform, each of which will accept Glock magazines

Kimber 2K11

From first glance, the Kimber 2K11 looks like a legit custom 1911. In a sense it is, but you can buy it exactly as you see from the factory.

No feature has been left untouched. This pistol is built for superior performance, from the patent-pending tool-less guide rod to the flared magwell and everything in between. Other performance enhancing components include a GT match grade trigger and a DLC coated 5-inch barrel with 5R Rifling.

It would be hard to take a bad photo of the 2k11. Source

And with an optics-ready slide and accessory rail, you can add your favorite optics and lights to fit your needs. It comes with three 13-round double-stack magazines (.45 ACP) or two 20-round and one 17-round (9mm) magazines, giving you a much higher capacity than your standard 1911s.

All of that, paired with exceptional aesthetics, makes it easy to see why it has generated so much buzz not just at SHOT Show but throughout the industry.

Barrett Squad Support Rifle System (SSRS)

Here’s one of those items that your wife says you don’t need, but you know you most definitely do! In all seriousness, for most of us, the Squad Support Rifle System (SSRS) may not be on the top of the priority list of must purchase items in 2025, but having a 30mm launcher in your collection sounds awesome.

I’ll take one of each, please. Source

In a familiar rifle style layout, the SSRS has an overall length of 33.9 inches and weighs 13.9 pounds. Feeding it is a 5-round magazine that can accept a wide variety of rounds that enable the user to engage in close-quarters combat, take down drones, and provide cover from a distance with smoke, to name a few options.

Lastly, you can mount your chosen optic with ease thanks to the full-length Picatinny rail, and I assume you can swap out the grip with aftermarket options if you’d like.

Staccato HD

While not as exciting as the SSRS above, Staccato has listened to the market and finally released the HD line that accepts Glock magazines.

We took a closer look at the HD at SHOT Show this year and could see why it carries such a high price tag. The ergonomics, fit and finish, and features are all top-notch and show even from a quick look.

Now that is an expensive setup. Source

With a new optics-mounting system, re-designed ergonomics, and an improved recoil system, you can tell that Staccato took its time designing the HD. Fully-ambidextrous controls, a highly-accurate bull barrel, and the inclusion of an accessory rail make the HD a prime candidate for everything from duty to concealed carry.

And to drive the point home one more time…GLOCK magazine compatibility! The HD line comes with two 18-round steel Glock-pattern magazines.

Henry Lever Action Supreme

There’s something about lever action rifles that just feels right. There’s also something about Magpul PMAGs that just feels right. So why not combine the two?

The Henry Lever Action Supreme does just that and offers a classic lever style experience but utilizes your beloved standard AR-15 magazines. While it may look silly with a drum magazine, this is America after all, so do as you please!

Henry Lever Action Supreme

Timeless but modern at the same time. Source

Built for accuracy, you’ll find a free-floated 1:8 barrel and a match grade adjustable trigger, plus the receiver is drilled and tapped to accept an optic. As a bonus, the barrel is threaded, making the Henry Lever Action Supreme an ideal suppressor host.

H&K MR A4

For the AR-15 fans, the H&K MR A4 is as close as you’ll get to the military variant, the HK416. That alone generated all the buzz it needed to draw long lines to simply hold the rifle at SHOT Show.

Featuring a short-stroke gas piston system and an adjustable gas regulator, it offers superior performance and longevity whether shooting suppressed or unsuppressed. Additionally, you’ll find fully ambidextrous controls that make it extremely user friendly.

Still doesn’t come with backup sights? Source

Inside the slimline aluminum M-LOK handguard is a threaded match-grade barrel ready to host your favorite suppressor. Upgraded furniture and a full-length Picatinny rail finish the rifle nicely, but surprisingly, it doesn’t come with backup sights.

The only true downside is the price tag, which will likely run you around $3,500. But if you have money burning a hole in your pocket, I’m the last person to talk you out of it!

Parting Thoughts

These were just a handful of the amazing firearms that caught our eye at SHOT Show this year. No matter what your platform or caliber preferences are, there are sure to be many options to admire if you really look into what each manufacturer brought to the show.

When it comes to these mentioned above specifically, we’re going to try and get our hands on them for in-depth reviews, but until then, we’ll just be admiring from a distance.

As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
