By now, many of you have heard of Kash Patel, the public defender who clawed his way up to the top and is now the acting director of the FBI and ATF.

Patel has a long political history and has accomplished many things from the time he was a public defender to now directing two of the biggest government entities in the world.

Today, we are going to dive into Kash Patel’s life. Who is he? What has he done? And since many of us dislike opinion-based politics, we will leave our opinion out of it.

We prefer you see through the party lines and make your own opinion.

History on Kash Patel

Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel was born on February 25, 1980, in Garden City, NY, a village in Hempstead on Long Island. His parents originated in Bhadran, Gujarat, and moved to New York in the 1970s.

He graduated from Garden City High School. Subsequently, he went to the University of Richmond, earning his B.A., University College London, earning his certificate in International Law, and finishing his J.D. at Pace University in 2005.

Kash then became a public defender in Florida, and wound up being assigned to the National Security Divsion, where he would concurrently work as a legal liaison for JSOC.

He then worked alongside President Trump for years in the pursuit of eradicating ISIS and multiple other terrorist organizations and helping return American hostages home.

After some time, he was appointed Principal Deputy to the Acting Director of National Intelligence, overseeing 17 government intelligence agencies and briefing the president every morning.

He has been a proactive politician who doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty with work involving Special Forces and counterterrorism, all while overseeing multiple multi-billion dollar budgets supporting intel.

What Are Mr. Patel’s Views?

It’s safe to say Patel is conservative in his views. He has been seen supporting President Trump numerous times, which has helped him gain positions in the President’s administration. It was President Trump who nominated him to be the Director of the FBI and ATF.

Kash has been open about his views on the FBI, oftentimes saying that his predecessors were far too biased when they were investigating President Trump for collusion. He’s aimed to expose the deep state corruption behind closed doors, which may have influenced why he was nominated.

You’ll find that he often repeats in his book that the Justice Department needs a “housecleaning” and “those who abused their power for political gain should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

He has even went as far as to say that he wants to take the J Edgar Hoover building and turn it into a “museum of the deep state” and thinks that the FBI has strayed too far from its original purpose, which is to find and prosecute criminals.

As Director of the FBI, he has plans to return the agency to what it was intended to be: dedicated to investigating and catching the toughest criminals.

Kash’s View On Guns

That’s why we’re here after all, right?

Kash Patel has spoken very little on firearms, but from what we have heard, he is all for the Second Amendment and agrees that firearm ownership is a right.

When he spoke at the GOALS (Gun Owners Advocacy and Leadership Summit) in Knoxville in August, he was adamant about disregulation. He reminded politicians that “they work for us.” During that same speech, he referred to the ATF as an arm of the government meant to wipe out Second Amendment rights.

Many big names in the Second Amendment community have come out in support of Kash Patel, most notably Brandon Herrera who posted a video of Mr. Patel with a caption saying, “Ladies and Gentlemen, we got him”.

It’s evident that Patel firmly believes in the Second Amendment and wants to reduce the government’s reach on this issue.

What Do You Think?

Kash Patel could be good for the 2A community, but keep in mind that he is only the acting director for now, and many politicians on the other side want him removed from this appointment, citing that he is not qualified for the job.

But the real question is, what do you think?

Being qualified for the job and being a politician in Washington have rarely gone hand in hand, and most will say that those who have been “experienced” have not always done a great job.

Regardless, form your own opinion. Do some research and always try to think from multiple points of view.

Be good and take care.
