Palmetto State Armory (PSA) is known for its diverse and affordable firearm offerings and for listening to consumers, so much so that it lets them vote on concept guns to help determine which will actually come to market.
And what better time to show all the concept guns off than at SHOT Show?! The PSA booth was an absolute madhouse for the majority of the show, with several lines forming near the concept guns.
Many of these are subject to seeing significant changes before hitting the market if they actually do, but even if they remain precisely how they are shown, they will make a pretty sweet firearm.
No matter what type of guns you’re into, there is sure to be one on this list that catches your attention. Here are our top 5 concept guns from PSA for 2025.
X9
Personal Defense Weapons (PDW) are becoming more and more popular and for good reasons. They are compact, versatile, and typically offer high capacities.
One of our favorites from the PSA concept wall this year was the X9 PDW. It may look familiar, resembling a MAC-10, but it offers much more. It operates on a delayed blowback operating system and has several upgraded features, not to mention it comes with a 30-round 9mm B&T magazine!

With a Picatinny rail up top, an M-LOK handguard, and a threaded barrel, your customization options will be virtually endless. It even has an ambidextrous charging handle, which makes it ideal for both left and right-handed shooters.
Sabre 11
My main issue with traditional 1911s is their oftentimes low-capacity magazines. Thanks to the recent explosion of double-stack 1911s (2011s) in the industry, capacity is no longer a concern.
PSA is teasing us with the Sabre 11, which has many awesome features and offers a solid double-stack capacity. A 9mm bull barrel and an optics-ready slide that comes with an RMR footprint plate are aiding the performance side of things, and it also has front and rear slide serrations, a full dust cover, and an ambidextrous safety.

Rumor has it that there would also be a compensated model, which would take the performance to an even higher level. Depending on the price, this one could create some serious waves in the market if introduced.
JAKL 9
The JAKL platform already has offerings chambered in 5.56, .300 BLK, and .308 Winchester and now stands to add 9mm.
The JAKL 9 is a direct blowback PCC that takes some of our favorite magazines. Accepting AKV and Scorpion magazines, you’ll have plenty of options, from standard stick magazines to drum mags!

The PCC is centered around the monolithic upper receiver, which features a built-in hand stop, MLOK slots, and a Picatinny rail. To finish off the JAKL 9, you’ll find a folding brace, making it ideal for a backpack or truck gun.
Olcan
Another spin on the popular JAKL line is the Olcan. Utilizing a JAKL upper and a dedicated Olcan lower, you can easily convert your JAKL into a bullpup.
The lower includes an upgraded trigger and a Die Free Co. grip, plus you can use your standard AR-15 magazines! A Picatinny rail sits up top, and plenty of M-LOK slots are available to mount your favorite accessories.

The Olcan will be sold as a complete rifle or a dedicated lower. PSA understands how much its consumers want modularity, and this proves it.
JAKL Precision
One last JAKL model that really caught some attention, including ours at SHOT, was the JAKL Precision.
For those who want to push their limits from a distance perspective, this is your JAKL. Chambered in .308 Winchester, the Precision features a 20-inch barrel and all the fixings to achieve maximum accuracy.

From its two-stage trigger to the Samson Manufacturing adjustable stock to the adjustable gas block, there should be no reason you’re not ringing steel at several hundred yards or more.
Between the M-LOK slots, Picatinny rail, and integrated ARCA rail, you can mount just about any accessory you wish. And let’s not forget to mention the beautiful FDE finish!
Final Thoughts
As you can see, PSA is wasting no time diversifying its product line and making sure it gives the people what they want. Best of all, PSA’s firearms don’t typically break the bank, leaving you some spare change to pick up extra ammo or accessories.
Keep your eyes peeled for which new models make it to market. Even if just one or two of these do, I’ll be a happy camper.
As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
