Manufacturers flock to Vegas every January to showcase their latest and upcoming releases, get a glimpse of the competition, and generally start the year off on the right foot.

Oftentimes, the dedicated firearms manufacturers steal the show, and to an extent, they still did this year. However, Magpul pulled out all the stops this year and grabbed the attention of the masses.

This article would be much too long to cover every piece of gear we saw at the Magpul booth, but several stood out. Let’s take a look.

The Main Attractions

FDP

This is not a “new concept” gun, as it was initially introduced at SHOT Show in 2008! However, for one reason or another, it never came to fruition. It may have taken the better part of two decades to arrive, but it’s here, it’s real, and it’s awesome.

ZEV Technologies FDP

Magpul partnered with ZEV Technologies to deliver this 9mm Folding Defense Platform (FDP), and the first users who have tested it have had some pretty good things to say about it.

When folded, it could easily be mistaken for a small briefcase. Once deployed, you can see the firearm take shape with all the necessary components: ambidextrous controls, a Picatinny rail, a precision trigger system, and more.

It’s going to be available in a carbine and pistol platform, both of which will accept Glock magazines!

RXM Frame

Magpul embarked on another collaboration to bring us the RXM (Ruger X Magpul) pistol.

With over 100 years of combined experience, you know the two industry giants put some serious research and development into this pistol. The RXM is compact, versatile, affordable, and made in America.

With a removable Fire Control Insert (FCI), you can easily swap frames and customize different setups for different needs. The frames are available in four colors: FDE, OD green, stealth gray, and black, and all include a flared magwell, enhanced texturing, an accessory rail, and GEN3 Glock aftermarket compatibility

The slide is optics-ready, with front and rear serrations and a front tritium sight. Best of all, the MSRP is only $499, and if you look hard enough, you can already find it closer to $400!

Magazines

Here at The Mag Shack, we’re obviously excited about the newest magazines that hit the market, and Magpul just dropped several!

The TMAG needs little to no introduction, as you’ve likely seen it all over your social media feeds. It’s the translucent version of the PMAG that many of us have been waiting for. Magpul is a little late to the game with this one, but it’s still nice to see.

TMAG 20

No more guessing how many rounds you have left.

The 30-round TMAG has been out for some time, but the 20-round is brand new. This one gives you the increased maneuverability you may want and comes with a slight reduction in weight.

It still features all your favorite features, such as the paint pen dot matrix, anti-tilt polymer follower, and a low-profile floor plate. It’s a bit slicker from a texture standpoint than I would have liked, but it still gets the job done!

Do you have a Surefire ICAR carbine or other firearm based on the LWRCI Six8 mag well? If so, this should excite you.

Constructed from the same durable polymer as all the other PMAGs but specially designed for the 6.5 Grendel/6mm ARC cartridges, this 25-round magazine will be your new go-to. It features side-facing witness windows, the classic paint pen dot matrix, and an overtravel stop.

Although they may be more expensive than your standard PMAG, you definitely get what you pay for compared to the competition.

Straying away from its famous polymer construction, Magpul now gives shooters the enhanced durability of corrosion-resistant stainless steel! If you’re looking for a few spare magazines for your Sig P320 and M17 pistols, these are definitely worth considering.

Don’t worry—the base plate and follower remain polymer, reducing the overall weight without sacrificing toughness. On the back of the magazine are precision-cut numbered witness holes, and the base plate even has a paint pen dot matrix.

Magpul thought of everything with the AMAG, and I’m assuming we’ll see this line expand quite a bit throughout 2025 and into 2026.

Accessories

Last but not least, we can’t forget about all of Magpul’s accessories. From upper and lower receiver attachments to bags to even knives, Magpul has a much wider product line than you may know.

QD M-LOK Bipod

One of my favorite accessories that Magpul just released is its QD M-LOK Bipod. Yes, it’s a pretty standard bipod at first glance, but the attachment method is what sets it apart.

Function over being flashy is the way to go. Source

No tools are required to attach the bipod. You simply insert the M-LOK stud, rotate 45 degrees, and tighten the adjustment knob. It’s that easy.

Its injection-molded construction is highly durable yet lightweight, and it folds for easy transportation. It also has non-slip rubber feet and seven locking detent positions. To top it all off, it’s made in the USA!

Other Accessories

As I mentioned, tons of other products were released, from bags to knives and more. The EDC bags probably received more of my attention than a lot of the other stuff, and I think we’re going to see them popping up in conversations much more frequently.

The messenger mag is a great option for those who want to stay as inconspicuous as possible. It looks like a standard laptop backpack but features a built-in CCW pocket and plenty of storage compartments for all of your spare gear. Of course, if you want to carry your laptop, you can fit one up to 18 inches.

Final Thoughts

Magpul always shows off at SHOT Show, but this year was one of its most impressive. Whether you’re looking for firearms, accessories, gear, or some free stickers, it’s always worth stopping by the Magpul booth.

I hope that next year’s release showcase is as expansive as this year’s for Magpul. Until then, we’ll just have to enjoy all of the awesome stuff that’s about to cross our desks.

As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
