Five years ago, Springfield Armory released the Hellcat. Due to its impressive capacity—11+1 rounds via a flush magazine—it quickly became an industry-leading micro-compact.

Fast-forward a few years to 2022, and the Hellcat Pro was released. For shooters with larger hands like myself, the Hellcat Pro was exactly what we’d been waiting for. With a larger grip but only a slightly larger slide, it provides extra real estate for all of your fingers to obtain a solid purchase without hindering the overall concealability too much.
Thankfully, even though each model has an impressive flush-fit magazine capacity, there are also extended options available for both, which make them great for home defense and the range as well.
Both pistols have really become fan favorites, and for good reasons. The Adaptive Grip Texture is one of the best in the industry, the triggers are crisp and clean, and optics-ready models are also available.
If you have any the models and need replacement or spare magazines, keep reading—we have all the magazines you could want!
Everyday Carry
When you decide to carry a pistol, you need to be able to rely on the magazines to ensure every round is ready to go if you should ever need it. That’s why we recommend the following factory magazines for the Hellcat and Hellcat Pro.
Hellcat
Compact Option:
If you have the original Hellcat still, it’s obvious you’re looking for maximum concealment. And if that’s the case, this 11-round factory magazine is the perfect choice.
With a stainless steel body, anti-tilt polymer follower, and rear-facing witness holes, it offers the perfect blend of durability and reliability. The finger rest may not add any capacity, but it definitely adds real estate to seat your fingers properly, allowing you to achieve a much more secure grip.
Since these magazines are the exact ones that come from the factory and your Hellcat was likely tested with, you can count on them to consistently perform when you need them.
Tried and True:
What’s better than a finger rest? A +2 grip extension!
If you’re already going to have the extra length added to your grip from a finger rest, you might as well get some extra rounds at the same time. This genuine Springfield magazine has a +2 grip extension, giving you a total of 13 rounds inside of it!
These have the same high-quality construction as the 11-rounders, but the witness holes have been updated to match the 13-round capacity.
Extended Option:
Who doesn’t love an extended magazine?! These extended 15-round magazines are yet another factory offering from Springfield, so you can rest easy knowing they will run flawlessly with your Hellcat.
Extra rounds and extra finger real estate, combined with a seamless aesthetic, make this magazine a great option for those looking to maximize capacity with their Hellcat.
Hellcat Pro
Extended Option:
Starting with the latest and greatest, these recently released 17-round magazines from Springfield set you up for maximum defensive capabilities when carrying.
By adding minimal length to your grip, you can squeeze two additional rounds on top of the standard 15-round flush mags. These share the same stainless steel construction with anti-tilt polymer followers, giving you that ultra-reliable and durable magazine you’ve come to expect from Springfield’s factory.
Don’t worry about keeping track of those 17 rounds, either, since you’ll still have those rear-facing witness holes for easy capacity assessments.
Compact Option:
Although the Hellcat Pro’s grip is only slightly larger than the original Hellcat’s, these flush-fit 15-round magazines ensure you’re not extending the grip any more than you need to.
The impact-resistant polymer base pad pairs wonderfully with the stainless steel body to deliver the durability you need to count on without adding too much weight. With 15 rounds in a concealable package, these are definitely a top seller for those who carry the Hellcat Pro.
Capacity Restrictions:
Let’s be honest. One of the selling features of the Hellcat Pro is its higher-than-average capacity, but not everyone is fortunate enough to live in a state that allows magazines over ten rounds.
If you happen to live in a restricted state, these magazines are for you. You still get the durability and reliability of genuine Springfield magazines, but the magazine itself will be locked at ten rounds.
The other appreciated features, such as the rear-facing witness holes, impact-resistant base pad, and anti-tilt polymer follower, still apply.
You might as well grab several of these to make up for the fact they are only ten rounds a piece.
Home Defense
Just like when you carry a pistol, you need the most reliable magazine(s) for your home defense setup.
Hellcat Extended Option:
This 15-round magazine is the highest-capacity factory option. Its reliability is guaranteed, given that it was designed for and tested with your specific handgun.
With a total capacity of 16 (15+1), you will be well-equipped to handle whatever goes bump in the night. Having a spare or two is never a bad idea, either.
Hellcat Pro Extended Option:
Thankfully, with the larger grip comes that larger capacity we have already touched on. These factory 17-round extended magazines for your Hellcat Pro are ideal for home defense.
You get 18 rounds (17+1) in a relatively compact magazine while maintaining genuine reliability. I suggest grabbing at least an additional magazine to store alongside your firearm to ensure you can handle anything from two-legged to four-legged intruders.
You can never be too safe.
Range
Now that we’re talking strictly range time, the floodgates start to open with aftermarket magazines. That means even higher capacity options and some that may be more affordable!
Hellcat and Hellcat Pro:
Having 32-round magazines essentially doubles any others that we have discussed so far. Great for the range, these will keep you shooting longer and reloading less.
They are a bit unwieldy for home defense, and you definitely won’t be able to conceal carry with them, but for the range, they are perfect. Best of all, you can use these with your Hellcat or Hellcat Pro, so you won’t have to buy separate magazines anymore!
Hellcat:
Mec-Gar makes some of the most reliable and popular aftermarket magazines in the industry. In fact, it even makes select “factory” magazines for manufacturers.
Although these aren’t the genuine Springfield magazines, they are a very reliable option and offer an additional round. They are also more affordable, so you can stock up on a few for the range without breaking the bank.
For range use, these are good to go!

Want one in MultiCam Black? We have you covered. Want one in plain old black? We have those, too!
Final Thoughts
The magazines that feed your pistol are just as important as the gun itself. Without both of them functioning as intended, they become useless, which is why we never recommend skimping on magazines if they will be used for defensive purposes.

For range fun, you can worry less about the magazine’s quality. Of course, we don’t recommend going with any “no name” eBay magazines…which can potentially turn into glorified paperweights. But that’s why we are here: to provide you with magazine options at various price points and capacities, all while sticking with the biggest names in the industry.
As always, stay safe, train hard, and have fun.
