Every Day Carry
Tried and True
Are you trying to save weight and carry only what you need? A ten-rounder should do the trick. This is the same magazine that comes from the factory with your Glock 43X or 48, so it’s a great addition to the gun belt for your daily pursuits.
And since it’s a factory magazine, you don’t have to worry about reliability as much as you would with an aftermarket magazine. It’s a simple plug-and-play.

For Those Who Want More
If 10 rounds aren’t enough for you, another popular option that I’ve seen in many Glock 43X/48 builds is the Shield Arms 15-round magazine.
Now, using this magazine will take some tinkering since it runs most reliably with the Shield Arms Mag Catch, so if you don’t mind spending a little extra time with your firearm, you’ll be good to go.
One of the best features of this magazine is that it fits in the same footprint as the 10-round magazine. The factory 10-round magazine is a single stack, but Shield Arms simply made this one a double stack, holding five more rounds without being any larger or longer.
It’s a great choice for concealed carry if you live in a free state.
Range
I’ve had a ton of success with the Glock 48 from an accuracy perspective.
Concealed Carry Drills
You should always practice your concealed carry drills. Having a few 15-round magazines ready for a skills-based range day is a great way to ensure you’re always prepared.
It’s far better than having only ten rounds of 9mm, that’s for sure.

Having more rounds available in a home defense situation is always preferred, especially when it doesn’t increase the size of your firearm. Think of the extra five rounds as an insurance policy that could save your life later.
While it may not seem like a big difference, five rounds can be the difference between life and death.

If you’re able to own a 20-round magazine in your state, then it would be silly not to have one of these sitting in your bedside gun. You know how the saying goes, “The more the merrier?” Well, 20 rounds of 9mm is a party trick in these small pistols.
You have to change your magazine catch, but that takes very little time and effort. Glocks are simple that way.

The only difference between the Glock 43X and 48 is the length of the barrel and slide. Technically, the weight differs because of the extra material used, but outside of those things, everything is the same. Both slimline pistols share the same frame, so the magazines fit into both frames.
