The KRISS Vector is one of the most peculiar firearms ever. It doesn’t look like anything you’ve seen before, but it uses the old roller-delayed blowback system, which has been around forever and adds to the appeal.

It’s not a very common firearm, either. I’ve only encountered maybe two or three in my 15 years of shooting, and I shoot often.

An option for all. Source

So if you’re here looking for magazines because you just purchased one, that’s awesome, and we should shoot together!

We’re going to divide our Vector magazine offerings into two categories: self-defense, which includes home defense and personal defense, and the range. And since the Vector comes in multiple calibers, we will feature an option for each.

Self Defense (Home and Personal Defense)

A perfect size for tight quarters. Source

These magazines have the highest reliability ratings, which is crucial given the circumstances. These magazines will be your factory mags and will not be the cheapest, but they have been tested and proven.

You can rest easy knowing they will have your back when needed.

Still, you should always test your magazines before relying on them. Anything can fail.

Vector 9mm 40 Round Magazine

If you choose the 9mm variant, you will receive one of these with your Vector, making them direct replacements or spares. You’d be correct if you think these are similar to Glock mags…that’s because they are built from OEM Glock mags!

Ten more rounds than the standard AR-15 magazine is grand, especially in a small package with virtually no recoil. It makes for one heck of a personal defense weapon. If you run out of ammo, you can have a spare with another 40 rounds ready.

This could also work as a solid range magazine. It’s always better to have more than less.

Vector 10mm 33 Round Magazine

Thirty-three rounds of full-power 10mm is nothing to be taken lightly. If you ever have to use your Vector for self-defense with this caliber, you’ll rarely have to shoot more than once. This is the recommended caliber for carrying in bear country after all.

Using an OEM Glock mag, Kriss added the MagEx2 extension kit, bringing the total to 33 rounds of hard-hitting 10mm ammunition. You still have access to the rear-facing witness holes plus additional texturing on the extension itself, making for one great combination.

Vector .45 ACP 30 Round Magazine

Thirty rounds of .45ACP is as American as Apple Pie and Coors Banquet. Together. Taking a standard Glock magazine and adding the KRISS MagEx2 extension brings the total to 30 rounds.

This is more than capable of being used for all types of self-defense. The .45ACP cartridge has been a one-stop shop for those wanting to defend themselves forever. With 30 rounds of the stuff, you’ll be more than capable of handling more than one attacker if need be.

Same as the ones above, you get the OEM Glock magazine reliability but with the extra rounds on top!

Standard Capacity OEM Glock Magazine

One of the best perks of the Vector is the ability to run any OEM Glock as long as they clear the bottom of the magwell.

For example, Glock 17 factory mags will run in your 9mm Vectors. And the Glock 21 magazine will run in your .45 ACP Vectors. So on and so forth. This is super handy if you want to keep the footprint of your Vector down.

Factory Extended Magazines

But again, since KRISS uses Glock-compatible magazines, any extended Glock factory magazine will work. For example, this 9mm 32 Round Extended Glock magazine will run without issue, as would this .40 S&W 22 Round Extended Glock magazine

As long as it’s a Gen 3 or above Glock magazine and will clear the base of the magazine well, it will run. Just make sure you train to account for the extra length of the magazine.

Range

With the vast selection of aftermarket Glock magazines, you’ll have more to choose from than you ever need.

Aftermarket Extended Magazines

Now, KRISS makes no promises that aftermarket magazines will work in the Vector, so be cautious here.

Some of our most popular aftermarket magazines for Glock pistols have been known to run well with the Vector though, such as the 27-round Magpul PMAG, the 32-round ETS extended magazine, and the 32-round ProMag extended magazine.

Conclusion

Simply put, the KRISS Vector is a legend. It’s been featured in a plethora of movies and video games and is something space-age alien mobsters use to fight each other…or at least that’s what I thought when I first saw it.

Magazines are easy to come by and are rarely out of stock due to how underrated this gun is. While you’re here, it’s wise to grab a few spares just in case. You never know what laws might be passed, unfortunately.

Be good and take care.
