8-Round Magazines (Extended)

Important note: You may come across searches for a Kimber Micro 9 15-round mag, but this configuration does not exist. The Micro 9 is a single-stack platform, and its frame cannot accommodate double-stack capacities. If higher capacity is a priority, platforms like modern double-stack micro-compacts are better suited.

Kimber Micro 9 vs. Micro .380: Magazine Compatibility

The Kimber Micro .380 magazine and the Kimber Micro 9 magazine are not interchangeable. Each is built for a different cartridge, and the internal dimensions reflect that difference.

The Micro 9 uses 9mm ammunition, while the Micro .380 is chambered in .380 ACP. The magazines differ in length, feed geometry, and internal spacing. Using the wrong magazine can lead to safety and feeding issues.

If you own both pistols, it helps to store your Kimber Micro Carry magazines separately and label them clearly. This prevents mix-ups during loading.

Kimber Micro 9 Rapide: A Different Magazine

The Kimber Micro 9 Rapide magazine is specific to the Rapide variant. Although the pistol shares the Micro 9 name, the magazine design differs from the standard version.

Standard Kimber Micro 9 magazines are not intended for the Rapide model. The Rapide magazine has its own dimensions and features, which are required for proper function. Always confirm your pistol model before selecting a magazine to avoid compatibility issues.

How to Choose the Right Kimber Micro 9 Magazine

Start by confirming your variant. All Standard Micro models (Stainless, Two-Tone, Nightfall, ESV, etc.) use the same magazine. However, the Rapide uses its own dedicated magazine. Check your model before ordering.

Next, choose your capacity. The 6-round option is best for maximum concealment. Go for 7 rounds for the best balance of capacity and grip comfort (most popular for carry). 8 rounds are good for range and home defense.

Know your platform. Kimber Micro 9 magazines do not fit the Micro .380 or any full-size Kimber 1911. They are model-specific. There are no aftermarket or third-party Micro 9 magazines. Factory Kimber OEM magazines are the only option.
